Epson have been producing printers for what seems like a life time. Over the years they have set themselves as the market leader, due to the quality of their printers at very affordable prices. The new range of Epson SX printer are all-in-one printers with one of the best quality photo prints we have seen on a home printer. The range of printers starts at around the £50 mark going up to £150.
The Epson range features LCD screens, even on their lower priced models, which allow you to see thumb nails of pictures that you may wish to print from a storage device either a USB or memory card. There are far more buttons on the new Epson printers, to assist the user in the operation of their printer. Older
Epson D1000 did have a distinct lack of buttons and this made it difficult to operate simple problems such as changing cartridges.
The range of Epson home printers all use the same range of cartridges, the Epson T0711- T0714. These cartridges have been around for a few years now, and there are many compatible brands on the market that allow you to lower your printing costs should you not wish to purchase genuine cartridges. With a genuine full set retailing at around the £25 mark and compatible cartridge sets as low as £7 for all four cartridges many chose the cheaper option. Epson will revoke your warrantee if found to be using compatible cartridges in their printers.
However, you have to ask yourself if saving up to £18 per set, you would not need to use many cartridges to actually save the whole price paid for your printer, should you be unlucky to find that compatible cartridges have caused problems with your printer.
